   Mr. T's Class

If you would like to communicate with me, email me at jjtraster1@gmail.com and I will respond as soon as possible.

For those students in Math Club, we will meet every Wednesday from 2:45-3:45 p.m.  Please be advised, there will be few classes I will miss in late January due to a family "growth".

The Social Studies presentations went very well.  I was impressed with their hard work and creativity.  We will be doing much more of this in the NEAR future, so be ready.

As a Writing update:  We are now working on INFORMATIONAL writing.  Our writing will now be done through our Social Studies and Science classes.  You should see some of this being completed at home.  Feel free to look it over and give suggestions on grammer and the like.  We will also be peer editing in class and reviewing other students writing to see what weak, average, and strong writing looks like.

Now that our classes are covereing different material in Math, I am going to refer to Mrs. Russo's class (as well as those from my homeroom that join her class) as 5th grade A and my class as 5th grade B (this is how we are seperated according to the school).

In Math B, we are looking at measurement and how area and volume work together.  We are covering measurement (area, perimeter, circumference, volume) and looking at the differences between Fluid oz, gallons, pints, cups, etc.  We will also be comparing these to dry weight as well.

As for 5th grade A, we are covering the same material and and emphasizing how to use and come up with formulas to find the area, circumference, volume, etc.

We are moving into the 20th Century in Social Studies.  We wil be looking at the "Wild West", and moving into WWI soon.

OUR PARENTS ARE AWESOME.  ANY CONCERNS LET ME KNOW SO I CAN ADDRESS THEM!!!!

      ENJOY,

       Mr. T
