Hello Parents,

Parents please check your child's agenda nightly to make sure that your child is writing down their assignments and homework. All assignments in the agenda are due the next day unless otherwise noted. It is the student's responsibility to be accountable for their assignments and homework. Students have a behavior folder that will come home each night. Parents please sign their behavior sheet each night so that Mr.Traster as well as I know that you are aware of behavior at school. There is now an online grading system that will allow you to stay current with your child's grades and missing assignments. Information was sent home with the student specific code for you to sign up with engrade.com.

Please sign up as soon as possible so that you may be informed of your child's progression.

This week the Spelling test will be on Thursday due to the field trip on Friday.  The words for the week of April 26th:

1. reminisce

2. conclude

3. contemplate

4. prognosticate

5. mnemonic

6. avert

7. inadvertently

8. diversion

9. introvert

10. convert

LANGUAGE ARTS

We will review root words, prefixes, and suffixes. Students will learn the meaning of common Greek and Latin root words.

SCIENCE
We will continue our study of constructive and deconstructive processes that change the earth. We will be looking more specifically at volcanoes and earthquakes this week.

Reading comprehension continues to be a struggle with many students. Parents please read with your children at home and ask them questions about what they are reading. Students have CRCT folders which contain sample passages from the Reading/Language Arts Coach book. The questions in their folders reflect those on the CRCT. Please review these at home with your child because they are an awesome tool in helping prepare them for the test.

A NEW CRCT STUDY GUIDE HAS BEEN UPLOADED. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL SAMPLE PRACTICE TESTS FOR READING/LANGUAGE ARTS AND SCIENCE. PLEASE PRINT OUT AND REVIEW THESE TESTS AT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD. :) THESE ARE VERY SIMILAR TO QUESTIONS STUDENTS WILL SEE ON THE TEST.

Here are two additional websites with practice tests in every subject! Hope you enjoy! :)
