My name is Margie McMasters and I am thrilled to have the opportunity and the privilege to teach at Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy. This is my fourth year at KCSMA. I was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Education from West Chester State University. I have lived in South Dakota, California, New Hampshire, Florida, and for the past 19 years, Georgia. My husband Bob and I have 4 children and 6 grandchildren (3 girls and 3 boys); 2 first graders, 2 third graders, 1 fifth grader, and a beautiful granddaughter born on September 18, 2009, with another granddaughter expected in October.
My philosophy of education is to improve student achievement and accountability. Learning should be inspired through creativity, enthusiasm and motivation. I believe this can be accomplished by challenging each student individually, setting performance standards, utilizing technology, and involving each child. Students need to be guided toward independent thinking and actions. Achievement, accountability and independent thinking will enable them to develop a positive self image and a desire to help others and their community.
